Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does the job usually take?
A: Typically 1 - 2 days including final cleanup and rough landscaping. We generally start early in the morning with a final pumpout of the septic tank. Usually we can connect the system to the sewer between 3:00 and 6:00 pm so that you can use the system that evening. The backfilling and cleanup is often done late on the first day or on the second day.
Q: Is the sewer connection inspected?
A: Yes, a municipal inspector checks each system while it is under a hydrostatic pressure test.
We do not backfill the sewer line until it has been inspected.
Q: How long am I going to be unable to flush the toilet or use water?
A: Typically only about 2 - 3 hours.
Q: What is the typical cost of a sewer connection?
A: Typically $1800 - $3000 for the connection and the pumpout. Plus each municipality charges for the street portion of the sewer. Sometimes it is a lump sum other places it is added to the taxes.
