  • April 2010 HAITI,  Kelly Karr an engineer with CSSi  recently returned from Haiti, were he volunteered as an engineer to help. After the devasting earthquake and the immediate medical issue were tackled the next huge problems revolve around a lack of clean water.Kelly worked on several assessments of water systems.

Thank you!     Thousands of families are living in homemade tents

  • Thankyou - Mountain Equipment Co-op in Victoria for donating a good tent. I stayed in the tent while I was there and then donated it as I left. Many thousands and thousands of people are living in makeshift tents made of sheets, blankets, shower curtains. The tent should save a family from total misery and sickness when it is raining.
  • Thankyou - Millipore Corporation for donating some millipore filters. I used these filters to conduct some initial water quality assessments on some water supplies.
  • Thankyou -Canadian Peacekeeping Forces -- You are doing an amazing job there.
  • Thankyou Major Miller - Canadian Forces - thankyou for your invaluable assistance and support. Your support enabled John Gillen and I to obtain a UN Helicopter to help us assess the potential for a water supply for the city of Carrefour ( pop 400,000) . This badly hit, poor area is using severly contaminated water from a river.
  • April 2010 - CSSi will donate two CSSi constant head permeameters worth $1000 to a University in Bangledesh. The company received an inquiry from the University to buy two of them. However, we decided to donate them.
  • May / June 2010 - CSSi is initiating research on "Effluent Distribution in Infiltrator Chambers". This reseach is focusing on how even the distribution is under infiltrator chambers under a variety of conditions. The Unversity of Calgary is expected to help by providing CSSi with some of their raw data.

  • March / April 2010 - CSSi  is designing a large system for an RV park near Campbell River. This system would be under the Municipal Sewage System Regulations
